Lagoon Creature

Hey, hope you all had a great christmas! Over the past two days, I've been spending some time thinking about concepts for my graduation film when I start my final year and one of my ideas is based around the classic film 'Creature from the Black Lagoon'. It's kind of like an 'untold story' of the main creature . I won't go too much into it now because I haven't even figured out the story yet, but here are some design variations I've been working on!

I decided to scrap this concept and story now as I've noticed the Lagoon creature has already been done a few times anyways.

Madam Mim, you nasty!

Hey guys! So my first deadline of year 2 has just passed by and I thought I'd post some keys and breakdowns from my animation assignment. I learnt sooo much from this exercise as it's the first time we've had to try and make a character perform with intentions, story and conviction. So as hard as it was to stay on model (mine definitely deviated from the original Mim, and in retrospect, I really should have paid a lot more attention to her ever charging arm length), and frustratingly crap when every other frame seemed like a mistake, I had a lot of fun ripping my hair out over this and can't wait to get back at my peg bar to try something new!

Care Bears

Hey guys! Long time, no post! I've been super busy lately interning and starting my journey into the industry (scary stuff) whilst still trying to finish my uni assignments but am so excited about the amount I've learnt and experience I've gained. In the mean time, I haven't managed to do much personal sketching, so I found this old bear shape design exercise in my sketchbook (Click here for linework) and coloured it up tonight to go with some recent sketches from my train journeys in the morn, and cafes.
